The latest stable version is 0.9.7, released on December 10th 2009.
Ubuntu PPA
The latest version is known to be compatible on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) and Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty).
Add the following repositories in your sources list to install SFLphone stable version:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/savoirfairelinux/ppa/ubuntu YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/savoirfairelinux/ppa/ubuntu YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main

And run:
sudo apt-get install sflphone-client-gnome
The karmic package is installable on Debian squeeze (testing) and Debian sid (unstable).
