Tip: Selecting a different audio device for ringtone

The perfect audio setup (or at least a very effective one) is using a USB handset for playback and microphone, and outputing ringtones on the internal speakers.

To do that in SFLphone, go to Edit > Preferences, select the audio tab on the right column and use the following settings:

  • Sound Manager: ALSA
  • ALSA plugin: dmix/dsnoop
  • Output: USB headset
  • Input: USB headset
  • Ringtone: Internal device
